Those of you who are zombie lovers such as myself, may find this of interest. While at the movies with a few of my dumb ass teenage friends (not to say that I myself aren't a dumb teenager, but ah well, you get the point) I found a poster of a movie that is coming soon to theaters near you: Zombieland. The name struck me, and my buddies and we vowed to go to the opening night together. As soon as I got home I did a little research on the subject.
Now, I'm not usually into comedies but this looks like a real hum-ding er. Its got blood, guts, tiny little girl zombies in tiaras, slow-mo (which I know everyone likes), and a hero with a handle bar mustache and a gun. So over all there are plenty of things to look forward to and more.
When I looked up the cast the first name that hit me was Abigail Breslin. She was the main character in Little Miss Sunshine, and one of the mains in an up-coming movie called 'My Sister's Keeper'. Now I'm not sure what her character does in the movie but I know that her name is Little Rock. How's that for an interesting name?
The second, and only other name that really caught my attention was Bill Murray. He plays a zombie so I am definitely excited. I loved him in Life Aquatic, and Coffee and Cigarettes so I'm sure he'll be excellent.
The only things I'm not looking forward to in the movie are 1) a suggested romance, and 2) stupid and/or slapstick comedy. I'm hoping these things will be stunted by the zombie comedy like they were in Shawn of The Dead but it doesn't look quite as promising. Never the less! I made a pact with my friends to go see it, so I shall go see it!

Zombie Quotes
"Trash : Do you ever wonder about all the different ways of dying? You know, violently? And wonder, like, what would be the most horrible way to die?
Spider : I try not too think about dying too much.
Trash : Mm. Well for me, the worst way would be for a bunch of old men to get around me, and start biting and eating me alive."-- Trash and Spider, Return of the living dead (1985)
"But I don't care darling, because I love you, and you've got to let me eat your brains."-- Freddy, Return of the Living Dead (1985)
"Get that damn screwdriver out of my head!" - Zombie, Return of the Living Dead II

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
I am currently reading the book Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which so far, has been a most pleasant read. I'm at about chapter 39 and its already been one of the most engrossing books I've ever read.
The original Pride and Prejudice was very good, but at times I found myself reading over the same page again and again because my mind kept wandering. It isn't so with this installment. No, when things begin to get even the intsiest bit boring mastermind, Seth Grahame-Smith throws in so hot zombie action. And even though most of our un-dead friends are dismembered by the heroin of the story, they do make for an exciting pick-me-up.
The characters in this book are much deeper and complex in this book, because about all of them are bound by a warrior's code. Take Elizabeth Bennet, for example, during the course of the novel she often talks about pulling out Mr. Darcy's or Mr. Bingley's heart for insulting her famliy's honor. It seems to me that mostly the female characters are the ones who are trained in the deadly arts....
Well, tootles.
Untill I finnish the book.

How I became interested in the subject.
"All things zombie have been cropping up in my reality as well as my no so reality."- Patrick O'Keif
I was first acquainted with the idea of zombies when I was about 7 years old. I was watching t.v. when I flipped to the MTV channel and saw a young man in an all red faux leather outfit dancing and singing to a pretty girl. This young man I later found out was none other than Michael Jackson himself.
Caught up in the dancing and singing aspect of the video I continued to watch. I heard the most entrancing voice of an older gentleman. He spoke of creatures crawling in search of blood and the terrorizing of neighborhoods. In horror, I watched crypts being opened from the inside and grave soil being disturbed from below.
As the deteriorating, and mutilated bodies crawled out of their graves I watched with eyes like saucers. They limped and dragged their limbs across the ground, after the couple, who had been skipping merrily home.
I gasped as the corpses surrounded the lovers and began to close in on them. The girl looked around at all of them, then back at her boyfriend (which was what I assumed him to be) only to see that he had become one. Mortified she yelped, and the camera zoomed in on her, then shot to the man who was apparently leading the band of undead riffraff. The music started back up and the dead people began to dance, and an awesome dance it was. There was hip shaking and, air guitar. I was impressed at how well they all could move considering their poor conditions.
At about, that time my heavily christian grandfather came in and immediately shut off my recently found entertainment. He informed me that, that kind of music came straight from the depths of Hell, and in doing so ensured my pursuing all things Michael Jackson. Whether he knew it or not he had kindled the fire of a new and strange obsession.
